Stiffness in joints: that is so severe it feels like locking up is usually caused by some form of arthritis. In a younger person, <40, this is possibly rheumatoid arthritis; if older, it could be osteo/degenerative arthritis. An evaluation, possibly with a Rheumatologist, should help. X-rays and laboratory tests could shed considerable light on this problem. Make an appointment.
