Longterm if unlucky: Uncommon but can cut nerves and then you can be left with persistent symptoms. also can develop a regional pain syndrome where the nerves are not cut or damaged and the tissues heal but the nerves continue to be numb. There are some treatments that may work for pain to a certain degree but not numbness. A doctor consult might sort that out. All the best.
