A member asked:

If i had gallbladder surgery four weeks ago if it still considered a sugical site or is it a surgical scar?

Both: The surgical site is just the location where the surgery was performed. This will always be the same as your surgical location neither moves nor changes. Surgical scar is what forms after surgery. This too will always be the same since scars always occur (but some smaller and some larger.). Hope this helps.

Post op infection: Generally, infections that happen within the first 30 days after surgery are considered postoperative infections. You are on the borderline. But if your incision never really healed as now has reopened, i would call that a postop infection.
