A member asked:

I had an ultrasound on my liver and it was perfectly normal. can i rule out cirrhosis?

No: Cirrhosis has stages. In the early stage, it can be hard to see on any study. There are new U/S techniques that examine the elasticity of tissues. This is being tested to access cirrhosis with non invasive techniques. It is not ready for clinical diagnosis.
