A member asked:

How accurate is a ultrasound of the liver for finding cirrhosis?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Ultrasound of liver: Ultrasound is a very good test to look for liver cirrhosis. This is because a liver that is scarred from whatever disease, will have a different "echotexture" than a normal liver. I would rate it's accuracy as a B+ or higher. It depends of course on the person reading the test, but alot of information can be gained from an ultrasound. It's radiation free and non-invasive.
