A member asked:

I was diagnosed with scoliosis of lower spine and told surgery would not help the pain. it that true?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Maybe: Scoliosis has a wide range in it's intensity and is often an incidental finding on x-rays taken on people with no symptoms.Minor scoliosis is rarely if ever considered reason to operate. Whoever evaluated you has the benefit of all studies and an exam to come up with their assessment. They're in a much better position to make that call.
