A member asked:

Has anyone had scoliosis spine fusion surgery, then had a injury that caused a spine fracture below there?

It could happen: You could break the spine below the fusion if enough force applied to cause the fracture of the spine. As you know the will be more intense above the fusion site and that cause more degenerative arthritis above and below the fusion site.

Spondylolisthesis: There is a spinal condition that lay people may think of as a fracture that occurs in 6% of the us population that occurs with greater frequency in patients with scoliosis that is not always symptomatic but may after a scoliosis surgery as load bearing characteristics of the spine change leading to an underlying asymptomatic condition to become painful and be discovered. One can also get injured.
