A member asked:

Bladder cancer not hereditary? can it be checked by simple blood test? urinalysis? or by scope from urologist only? best regards

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Cystoscopy is best: If you have bladder symptoms such as blood in the urine(Hematuria) you may need Cystoscopy which is the only way to make a diagnosis of Bladder cancer. There is no simple blood test .Urinalysis is the first test to look for various causes of blood in the urine. This includes UTI also called Cystitis. Please tell us your age as that may help to narrow the possible causes of your Urinary symptoms.
