A member asked:

Pts, at, &dr suspected sesamoid stress fracture (athlete) xrays & mri negative. dr diagnosed chronic sesamoiditis. treatments? will it come back?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Offload the area: You will likely need an orthotic in your shoe to keep pressure and stress from the area, this will help to prevent recurrence. There is always a possibility of it coming back, usually if you irritate to area such as if you are on rough ground or hard surfaces without good shoes on.
