The best thing to do: is to approach it systemically...get better hydrated by boosting your water intake. OTC saline nasal sprays may help; also use a humidifier or steam vaporizer. Avoid applying vaseline or any type of cream or ointment; small amounts can be inhaled and get into your lungs over time leading, rarely, to lipoid pneumonia. Use only a water-soluble preparation, apply sparingly, avoid lying down afterward
