Unpredictable: First of all it is unusual to get a first time diagnosis of fibroids at age 50 unless they are very small. They really should not be large and growing at that age. That would slightly increase the risk of cancer. But fibroids may cause no symptoms, or they may cause pain, bleeding, constipation, etc. Depends on number, size and location.
