Psychostimulants for: ADHD have a paradoxical effect; that is, even though they are or act like amphetamines, they slow you down. They also can build up over time. If you are just now feeling sleepy after taking Ritalin at this dose for six months, you may just not be becoming overdosed, as most meds slowly build up in your system over time. Check with your MD and ask if it's OK to slightly reduce your dose.
