BP and P readings: The readings were not ridiculous by any means but you can get a home BP/pulse monitor and check in a more relaxed atmosphere. Even if was truly elevated one reading does not a diagnosis make. If with the home monitor you are persistently elevated then see your doc.

Depends: It really depends on what you were doing right before you used the machine. If you did not rest for about three minutes prior to the testing, your heart rate and blood pressure will likely be higher then it would be normally. The next time you go in, sit down and wait three minutes before testing your blood pressure and heart rate.
