Know your supplier!: That is not a usual side effect of THC. As they used to say in the '60's know your supplier! Maybe you were smoking some impure dope. If you were with friends when you were indulging did any of your friends who smoked from the same brick suffer the same side effect? Pot usually mellows you out, does not cause cardiac stimulation. Some cities (NYC) will test pot for impurities in a blinded fash

Too much THC: Too much THC too quickly can cause the symptoms you describe. Some are very similar to an anxiety of panic attack. The difference is, the cannabis is causing those symptoms of heart palpitations and light headedness. Some people are very sensitive to the effects of even small amounts of THC. Good luck!
