MJ increases Paxil (paroxetine): My understanding is it would be unlikely for combination of Paxil (paroxetine) ; marijuana to cause a normal heart to stop, but rapid heart rate (occasional effect of paxil) might be more likely due to marijuana inhibition of the liver enzyme that metabolizes paxil, thus causing an increased level of Paxil and a concomitant increase in all effects from paxil. Would discuss with Paxil prescriber.
