My 17 year old son has a pea size
lump on the back of his neck under the skin it doesn't move it's just below hairline left side. what could this be?

Possible cyst: Some individuals have a prominent point at the base of the skull bone in the midline in the back, and could feel like a nodule .Other likely diagnosis would be a sebaceous cyst, which arises from a hair follicle. They are benign and do not need to be removed unless iinfected, or painful, or continue to enlarge, in which case an excision is important to identify the true nature of the nodule
