A member asked:

Infection in right middle lobe lung. not responding to any antibiotics. docs talk about removing it. any other options?

A second opinion: This doesn't seem quite right-maybe there are more details to be had? Sometimes a pneumonia is caused by a blockage in one of the breathing tubes (bronchi)- maybe THAT is what they are talking about. Either that or some other structural disease that would be effectively treated by surgery. There are infections around the lung (empyemas, pleurisy) that also need a surgical intervention.
