If kidney infection not responding to antibiotics, what do docs do next?

See below: Maybe the bacteria is not susceptible to the antibiotics, or there is some blockage or defect in the kidney drainage , or an abscess, not reached by antibiotics i am also not sure what you mean by not responding , maybe the fever if present is due to the antibiotic itself many possibilities need to be ruled out.
