A member asked:

My heart rate is 73 resting but sometimes jumps to 117 after standing then goes back down to 96- 109 is this normal? 29 year old male ekg chest ex ray

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Normal: It sounds perfectly normal. The jump up in heart rate with change in position is normal physiologic response. Your heart rate and blood pressure changes when you change your position to take into account the gravitational pull. Simply, this allows the body to keep flow of blood at an equilibrium.
