Varies: There are a number of potential causes of pain in that area and treatment varies based upon the cause. Among the more common causes are a strain to the rhomboid muscles that insert on the medial border of the scapula, the development of a subscapular bursitis, or the development of a thoracic radiculopathy among other possibilities. An exam would likely lead to the correct diagnosis.
