Sinus Tachycardia: Sinus tachycardia is defined as any heart rate over 100 beats per minute. Sinus tachycardia is normal and the expected response to exertion, stress, or illness. Inappropriate Sinus Tachycardia (IST) is rare, and denotes a condition of elevated rest heart rate in the absence of physiologic or pathologic stress. It is a diagnosis of exclusion. Typically is a mean rate over 24 hours on Holter.
