More info....: The heart rate of 173 BPM is fast and meets the definition of tachycardia. The next question is what was the rhythm when your your rate was 173? So, to make this diagnosis and then decide on treatment based on this diagnosis, you need to see a cardiologist. The cardiologist can look at your monitor results and decide on what to do from here.
