Forefinger got forcefully stretched backwards during workout. pain (not severe, but impairing day-to-day) is the same after 3 months. what can i do?

Stretched finger: get X-ray done if X-ray is fine then physic therapy will help as it will be a ligament injury. If that does not help then see a hand surgeon for 2 nd opinion.

Be seen: If you are still having pain 3 months after a finger injury, I would encourage you to be seen. A detailed exam and X-ray would likely give an accurate diagnosis about the underlying cause and then things like the overall prognosis and treatment options can be discussed.
