Dyspnea: Shortness of breath with no evident heart or lung pathology may be due to anemia or anxiety. If the dyspnea occurs at rest but not with exertion, this suggests anxiety or chronic tension as the cause. Dark brown stool isn't unusual, but black stool is seen with bleeding from the upper gi tract.
