Stopping medication: Safest way to stop nortyptiline ( nortrilen ) is to gradually taper it which will depend on what dose you are on . Best to discuss with your doctor so they can plan it out for you .

Taper: many people have success tapering off of tricyclic antidepressants. it usually takes a week to a month depending upon your dose. speak with your doctor about a tapering schedule and if it's appropriate to discontinue
