Yes -it's different: Since it's a totally different medicine, the answer is 'yes'. Besides, it sounds like the cipro wasn't working, so you need another therapy. Hopefully the macrobid will do it, although it would not have been my next choice. In these cases a urinary CULTURE helps very much. Keep drinking lots of fluid to help the bladder flush things out. It is an inconvenience but hopefully you'll get better soon!
