Is there a home remedy for treating a vaginal bacterial infection? my doctor said it's not servere enough to prescribe medicine for at the moment.

BV treatment: This usually means bacterial vaginosis, an overgrowth of mostly normal bacteria. I don't understand "not severe enough to treat". If BV is noticeable and bothering you, it should be treated (you're in charge, not doc!). Discuss again with your doctor or get a second opinion. There are only prescriptions, no proved self treatments. Most imporant, do not douche, will make it worse and maybe harmful.

There are: a number of OTC (Over the counter) Feminine hygiene products but many GYN practitioners suggest a mixture of water and vinegar...others are "against" douching. Ask the Practitioner who said "it's not sever enough" what you should or should not use!!! Hope this is helpful DrZ
