Mixed bag: Reasonable question, but like anything else, more data will be helpful in making a pre-test probability forecast. Assuming a 50-50 risk for all comers, age, size of the node, and smoking status will be the biggest determinants. This is assuming that it is in fact an enlarged lymph node. Not having been sick decreases but does not eliminate the chances of infection. And so on. Get the biopsy
