Evaluate and ....: This needs to be evaluated in person by a dentist. In all likelihood this rotten loose tooth piece is just the tip of the iceberg and an indication of a bigger problem. Your dentist will evaluate the situation by clinically examining you and along with x-rays of the area discuss treatment alternatives. Please understand that the absence of pain does not mean that a serious problem does not exist.

Trapped piece?: if the piece is trapped it might not hurt but this is not a good situation. I would see a dentist and get their opinion on what is going on and what you can do for it.

See DDS: First, perform a clinical and radiographic examination to determine a treatment plan prior to the extraction.
