Flipper Care: Good day; Always a possibility of flipper of loosening and being swallowed. Not recommended to sleep with small removable prosthetic appliance in your mouth.

Remove flipper: Acts as a trap for food and bacteria, which can damage teeth and gum tissues. Can place untoward force on teeth. Remove before bed, brush gently with soft toothbrush (no toothpaste that would scratch plastic) and then let it soak in Denture Cleaner over night. Make sure to brush teeth when flipper removed and before reinserting. Floss daily. Wearing appliance during short nap should be OK.

Please, take it out: You can use the flipper during the day, but remove your flipper denture at night. Removable flippers require proper care to keep them clean. It is best to soak the flipper in water with denture cleansing tablet overnight. Good luck.

Flipper care: It is almost always best to remove all removable appliances when you go to sleep. At that time saliva flow decreases and you are more likely to develop cavities and gum inflammation from bacteria and food debris. You wouldn't wear a wet-suit 24/7 either. Further, a small flipper only might be dislodged and possible swallowed or aspirated. A short nap with a large flipper generally is OK.
