A member asked:

What would be a good jogging pace for a 56 yr old man looking for cardiovascular health benefits? and how many miles per day?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Highly variable: Pace and distance are highly variable among runners, depending on their experience level, goals, desire, prior injuries/orthopedic conditions and conditioning level. I would recommend you start gradually, perhaps at a pace of 9-11 minutes per mile and 1-3 miles on non-consecutive days. You can increase your distance 10-20%/week and consider a goal of decreasing your pace/mile by 30 seconds/month.
