Depends: Strep A is primarily treated with antibiotics to prevent a later transition that some have to Rheumatic fever.This condition can injure the heart, brain while some have kidney damage. Strep C does not have this potential and in many will produce a mild self healing process.If it were moderate or severe antibiotics might be indicated to aid the body in reducing/clearing the infection.
