Sore throat: First, who examined? Did anyone evaluate for a peritonsillar abscess? And did they do a monospot? Many 'strep throats' are actually mono, which while strep bacteria may be present in a culture, the strep isn't the cause of symptoms. If it's mono, an ebv panel might help, but the treatment is rest and no Aspirin if it is.
