Doc looked into mouth an said i have strep throat no swab of anything he gave antibiotics should i be concerned about misdiagnosis or would he know?

Usually correct: Doctors have been diagnosing and treating strep throat with antibiotics without lab tests, since the middle of the last century. Some cases have the textbook appearance for strep throat, and are easy to diagnose without lab tests. Other cases look similar to viral illnesses, and benefit from the help of a simple lab test.

Strep test was neg but doc said tonsils had white spots so he prescribed cefdinir. Im on day 3 and throat is still as bad if not worse. Any advice?
5 month sore throat. ENT doc said everythings fine. Red, irritated, cobestones fatig. Antibitics, steriods, postnasal meds no help. STD/HIV/Strep neg.
