Few Days: Probably sore from the rubber dam clamp used to hold the dam in place. Maybe a bit from the injections . Should resolve in a few days. Warm salt water rinses usually help. Be sure to keep all areas clean. Get scheduled for the follow-up restorative treatment -- usually a crown. Do not take a chance on this breaking or leaking. Good Luck.

Few days: Gum irritation is normal following root canal therapy, this is because the dentist has to place a clap around the gum to help stabilize the rubber dam.
