A Boil Probably: It is likely (from your description) to be a boil. It is painful due to pressure of pus on surrounding tissue. You can take simple pain killers like Paracetamol. Usually it settles by itself or pops out releasing its content. If it gets bigger, more painful, or you start feeling unwell you might need to see your doctor for review and further management as needed.
