No real concerns: It takes much more than a hug to exchange adequate bodily fluids enough to cause infection. Unless he rubbed his open wounds directly onto an area of skin exposed on your body, your risk of contracting anything serious is next to none.

Won't transmit stuff: It sounds like a good male bonding experience. Blood needs to get through a break in your skin. Hepatitis has been transmitted through fisticuffs, but doesn't get transmitted to care providers who may be splashed. The other blood-borne illnesses are famously less catching. Best wishes.
