Saphenous vein bleed: Saphenous vein comes up medial thigh to enter sapheno femoral junction. Just prior to entry, vein is close to skin and a wound over the vein will continue to bleed Eventually venous compared to arterial bleeding will slowly diminish and stop. A pressure dressing over the site should help induce the permanent clot. If skin defect noted, wound can be packed with Vaseline gauze.
