BPV?: This is likely from benign postural vertigo due to dislocation of small stones in the inner ear to provide input on balance with postural changes This condition can often be reversed by using certainly neck maneuvers. On the other hand, it is unusual for BPV for this to occur when you have allergies or a cold -the latter is more suggestive of an inner ear problem. Have you seen an ENT?
