Possible BPV: In general, people refer to dizziness when they feel either lightheaded or have a spinning sensation better known as vertigo. If the dizzy spell is truly a spinning sensation then we usually think of conditions such as benign positional vertigo, labyrinthitis or Meniere's disease. Other conditions such as acoustic neuromas and even brainstem strokes should also be considered.
