A member asked:

Best treatment option for s. ludunensis in my knee after total knee removal?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Sensitivity of germ: Well the doc should have a 'profile' of what the bacteria is and is not sensitive to. That, depending also on you (presence or absence of allergies, kidney function etc) would help determine the best treatment. I would guess your doctors picked Vancomycin, which is one of the best medications for that. I'm also a fan of daptomycin but it's extremely expensive. With a joint infection, treat longer.
