A member asked:

Can a intramammary lymph node be malignant?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Lymph node pathology: A lymph node is simply a 'weigh station' for the immune system. A lymph node will 'react' such that it can become bigger (and hence found on physical exam, or seen in some type of imaging) when it is working for you. Most often, it's some type of germ -such as a virus or bacteria that it's reacting to. Since cancer is also an 'invader' sometimes that can cause it to react too. Best to see your doc
