Tell your dentist: The first thing to do is tell the dentist who did the extraction.Root canals harbor chronic infections; it sounds like there's a residual infection in your mouth. Hopefully the extraction was complete; if there's any residual root left it could cause a cavitation requiring further extraction. You may need antibiotics. Try Oral Health tincture from Herb Pharm:1 dropperful 4x/day, swish and swallow.

Is it improving: If the discomfort is improving with each day then its just part of the healing process. You may want to rinse with hydrogen peroxide or salty water more often. This will irrigate the wound and clear the drainage tastes

It's very simple: It's always best to call the dentist who is actually treating you to discuss your symptoms. He\she knows your condition both before and after treatment along with your medical and dental history. We can only guess as to what is going on and whether or not you need to be seen now or on a regular post op visit.

Normal: for 3 days. Keep the area clean and should heal in a few weeks.
