THE BAD TASTE IS FROM LEAKAGE IN THE ROOT CANAL NOT BEING SEALED COMPLETELY. AFTER ANY ROOT CANAL A CAP SAME AS CROWN IS NECESSARY TO KEEP TOOTH FROM BREAKING AND PROTECTING AND SEALING THE ROOT CANAL AS WELL AS THE TOOTH. SEE A DENTIST AS SOON AS CAN SO IN ORDER TO FINISH THE BEST TREATMENT.

Part of root canal treatment includes sealing the tooth at both ends. Sounds like the treated tooth was never capped, that overall treatment was never finalized. Bad taste comes from reinfection of the tooth as a result of not finishing treatment. You traded the possibility of a virus infection for the purity of a bacterial infection by not completing treatment. Please see your Dentist ASAP.
