Rare: I suspect you are allergic to other substance instead of silicone. If you are indeed allergic to silicone , it is unlikely that you would tolerate the contact without intense eye itching and swelling. Thus the tongue reaction would be an impossible event.

Allergy: Are you sure that isn't a latex allergy, as in latex examination gloves?or did you have an adverse reaction to a silicon impression material?Please discuss this with both an Allergist, your Dentist, and your Ophthalmologist. Ask them to consult with each other. I would think that if you had a true silicone allergy you couldn't wear silicone contacts.
