A member asked:

I'm 51 had a trams abdominal & transvaginal ultrasound & my right ovary could not be seen why? it should be still there .

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Not uncommon: Sometimes the ovary can be hidden behind the uterus or surrounded by bowel loops or located up high in the pelvis (too high for ultrasound to see). Or it may be too small to see on ultrasound. Did the ultrasound show anything else abnormal? If not, don't worry too much.
