Variety of things: A variety of things could cause it. Vaginal dryness, lack of lubricant on the sonogram, placing too much pressure on the probe, a problem in the bladder, rectum, uterus or ovaries are all a few of the possibilities. Finding out if anything abnormal was found on the sonogram is the next step.
