The risks are less: The risks for a woman and her fetus are LESS if she has had chicken pox or the vaccine, before getting pregnant, compared to the risks if she never had chicken pox nor the vaccine. So far, women who got the vaccine just prior to getting pregnant have not gotten any unusual side effects from getting the vaccine (meaning the vaccine doesn't cause a problem). Can get the second shot after delivery.
