This may be: a heightened "gastro-colic" reflex ( The intestines increase motility when the stomach is DISTENDED that's why water doesn't "do it") This overactive reflex is seen in some cases of irritable bowel syndrome and if really bothersome can be reduced with the use of a prescription anti-motility drug!
