Likely is normal: If the body's fluid status is normal, drinking more fluid will prompt a rapid excretion as urine to maintain the normal fluid status. If you have been hot and sweating or have not had much to drink and the same urination occurs after drinking water, then your kidneys are not functioning normally to retain needed fluid. The blood sodium level is the marker for proper kidney function for fluids.
